Biography

Haris (Javanese: ꦲꦫꦶꦱ꧀ ꦱꦼꦠꦶꦪꦮꦤ꧀) is a lifelong learner. He takes pleasure in the pain and difficulty of being a student so that he can study the mechanisms by which God creates life. His other side is extremely enthusiastic about art, as he takes great pleasure in conceptualizing and designing. He believes that the fields of art, science, and divinity are all interconnected. Therefore, he dedicates time and energy to exploring the connections between these various fields to demonstrate that God created the creatures through scientific evidence and beautiful art.

Born into a farming family, Haris earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang with a final research concentration in Bovine sperm cryopreservation. During his undergraduate study, He found an interest in reproductive biology. Walking the talk, He did an internship at the National Insemination Center, Malang, to study frozen sperm production and continued the program at the Karya Anugerah Rumpin Breeding Company, affiliated with the National Research and Innovation Agency (formerly known as the Indonesian Institute of Science), where He was exposed to the sperm sexing method in glimpse.

His curiosity kept growing and led Him to take a one-year non-degree education program to enrich reproductive biology at IPB University before continuing His education to the postgraduate level by taking a master’s program in Veterinary Medicine at Chiang Mai University. Joined as a member of the Reproductive Biotech Lab, He proposed and conducted research on sperm capacitation and in vitro embryo production in mammals, especially in Bovines. While doing his main research, Haris was fascinated by somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) research done by his colleague, who further trained him to practice in a micromanipulator. His curiosity about reproductive biology evolved from conventional in vitro embryo production to non-conventional through SCNT ever since. His works focused on the vast-multipurpose applications and derivations of mammalian embryo production under in vitro settings, at times also exploring the creative interplay in the IVF-SCNT-ESCs field of research.
